Elm Leaves Profiles PBN

August 24, 2017

Thanks Elm Leaves for recognizing PBN's work to combat the shortage of legal aid attorneys for those in need. Join us at our upcoming open houses on 8/31 and 9/7!

"This shortage of pro bono attorneys not only affects the number of low-income or disadvantaged people served, but also the disposition of justice. Studies consistently show that the outcome of contested matters often turns on whether a low-income or disadvantaged person has representation."

So proud of Julie Renehan. She is exactly what we need more of in our society -- someone who sees a need and does all she can to do something about it. There is little that Julie can't do.. and little she has not done for PBN; she has been a project manager, project developer and is currently on our Board of Directors as well as an active legal volunteer. Thank you Julie. This recognition is well deserved!

Q&A with Heena Musabji

March 9, 2017

The American Bar Association's Dialogue discusses all things PBN with Heena Musabji!

"Even though the intent was to make legal pro bono access easier for attorney parents, the result is that we have attorneys from diverse walks of life (including retired attorneys, inactive attorneys, part-time attorneys, those in between jobs, and solo practitioners) who have all found it practical to do pro bono work on this platform."

PBN Board Member Stephen Hackney and the "Marquette Park 4"

March 2, 2017

"The attorneys who worked tirelessly for our freedom." Those are the words of the "Marquette Park 4" Four young men who were convicted of murder and given life sentences twenty years ago, but were exonerated and freed in February due to the hard work of pro bono attorneys... one of them being Stephen Hackney, a member of our PBN Advisory Council. We are proud to have you on our team and fighting the good fight! Thank you Stephen!

PBN Founder Donna Peel Profiled in American Lawyer

January 6, 2017

So proud of Donna Peel as she returns to her antitrust roots with Kirkland & Ellis. A great article in the American Lawyer!

“She’s [Donna's] a perfect example of why Pro Bono Network exists,” Pont said. “It exists for someone to use their energies and help do what they can during that time when they’re not working full-time.”
