Laurel Steele

Laurel joined the PBN Board in 2020, after serving for several years as a volunteer attorney. She began her career as an Accountant for British Petroleum in Cleveland, before going to law school at the University of Virginia. Following graduation, Laurel served as a Public Defender for the Hamilton County Public Defender's Office in Cincinnati. Leveraging her skills in accounting and law, Laurel transitioned to banking, as a Bank Examiner for The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, where she had responsibility for ensuring bank compliance with federal regulations. Laurel is actively involved in volunteering with her children's schools. She holds a B.S. in Accounting from Hampton University and a J.D. from the University of Virginia. She is licensed to practice law in Georgia, Ohio, and Illinois.
